1. Presentation: Larisa Sayevich

Characterized the activities of the ESC from the very start of functioning of the club, and pointed out that recently it became rather not only a tool for improving English speaking skills, but a kind of cross-cultural discussion and communication community. Many people attending the club are alumni of the American exchange programs being members of the “Community Initiatives” NGO. She suggested the formation of a new section of the NGO with the following aims:

Cross-cultural communication and discussions

Improving English speaking skills

Studying and dissemination information about the USA

Developing friendly relations with the American communities and communities of other countries of the world

Dissemination of the American experience of creation of open civil society

Holding cultural, social and ecological actions

Suggested the name of the club to be “Dis-co Bridge” implying “Donetsk International Discussion and Communication Community Bridging Oceans of Differences”; the logotype and slogan:

Enumerated the forms of activities already being traditional for the club and suggested to fill in questionnaires for determining interests of the members of the club and for finding new forms of activities.

The questionnaire was spread among the members of the club for filling in and the following analysis.

Resolved:

1. To consider the English Speaking Club of the Donetsk WOA Center a section of the “Community Initiatives” NGO with its special above-mentioned mission.

2. To confirm the name of it to be “Dis-co Bridge” and its slogan to be “Bridging Oceans of differences”. The logo is confirmed to be the one presented above.

3. On the basis of the analysis of the questionnaires to broaden the field of activities of the club including English reading club and English singing club, etc.

4. To prepare grant proposals concerning the projects of activities and actions to be held by the “Dis-co Bridge”.
